Cookie Policy
Last updated: 26 September 2026
This Cookie Policy describes how https://restaurantdestinations.com (the "Site") and the Restaurant Destinations city-guide network that follows this Policy (the "Network") use cookies and similar technologies. The Site is operated by X Enterprises, LLC. Restaurant Destinations is a DBA of X Enterprises, LLC, 18122 3rd Dr SE, Bothell, WA 98012.
Please also read the Privacy Policy (/privacy).
City satellite domains follow this Cookie Policy at https://restaurantdestinations.com/cookies.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small piece of data a site sends to your browser. This Policy also covers similar technologies, including scripts, pixels, and first-party browser storage (localStorage), where the context requires.
The consent tool on this Site
This Site uses a first-party cookie consent banner from the X Layers marketing layer (CSS class x-cookie-consent), not Usercentrics and not another named third-party CMP. The live tool is a marketing-layer consent banner. It typically offers Accept all, Reject all, and a preferences view with Save preferences. Categories in the tool are described at a high level as:
- Strictly necessary / essential (required; cannot be turned off);
- Optional analytics;
- Optional marketing;
- Optional preferences.
Default state before you choose: necessary on; analytics off; marketing off; preferences off. Optional scripts must not run until you allow the matching category.
Your choice is stored in first-party browser storage (storage key xMarketing.consent) so the Site can honor it on later visits. That stored choice is our record of your decision. It is not a third-party consent-management cookie.
If the Site displays a Manage cookies control (or you reopen the banner), you can change your choice. Strictly necessary / essential storage remains on.
On a first visit, the banner should be shown until you choose. Optional scripts in a category load only if (1) you allow that category and (2) this Site is actually configured to use a script in that category.
What is live on this Site today (26 September 2026)
Essential / strictly necessary
- Consent choice in first-party browser storage, as described above.
- Ordinary hosting and security cookies or headers that Vercel or the Site may set so pages load.
There are no diner account or session-authentication cookies on the primary host today.
Optional analytics
The marketing layer can load analytics tools only if a measurement ID is configured and you grant Analytics consent. As of 26 September 2026 this Site does not publish a Google Analytics 4, Google Tag Manager, or Microsoft Clarity ID on the public HTML we fetched (configured ids are unset). Optional analytics measurement scripts therefore do not fire on that configuration.
Marker.io is configured on this Site with project id 672bb93e738cd3b4ee6399f4. The marketing bundle is written to load the Marker widget only after Analytics consent. Marker can set third-party cookies or similar storage and can collect page URL, browser data, and feedback you submit. Until you allow Analytics, Marker must not load.
If a GA4 / GTM / Clarity id is added later, it must load only after Analytics consent, and this page should be updated to name it.
Optional marketing
No named advertising pixel or ad-network ID was published on the public HTML we fetched. Marketing cookies load only if configured and you grant Marketing consent.
Optional preferences
The consent tool may include a Preferences category for first-party interface choices. Preferences storage is used only if you allow that category or if a setting is strictly required for the page to render.
Other third-party requests
The live Site loads fonts from Google Fonts (fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com). That request can send your IP address and browser information to Google. It is not loaded through the consent tool as an analytics or marketing tag.
Pages may load brand or city logo assets and may link out to Instagram (instagram.com/restaurantdestinations) or restaurant third-party sites. Those destinations have their own practices.
Your choices
You can:
- use the Site consent tool (Accept all, Reject all, or customize categories);
- reopen that tool if a Manage cookies or similar control is shown; and
- block or delete cookies in your browser.
If you reject optional categories, the Site should still load. Feedback widgets or future analytics that depend on optional scripts would not run.
Nuxi / engineering note (not a visitor promise)
Consent for analytics, marketing, and preferences must default to false before Marker.io loads. Do not ship Marker on page mount without the Analytics consent gate. Do not invent a different Marker project id. Prefer an honest banner message (necessary cookies to run these pages, including this banner) over mill "analyze traffic" wording when the banner is visible.
Changes
We may update this Cookie Policy by posting a revised version on this page with a new "Last updated" date. If we start using a published analytics or marketing ID, change Marker behavior, or change the consent tool, this page should be updated to match live behavior.
